In my previous 2010 holiday post at 2010 Holiday Season Collections – Red, Gold and Sparkly, I mentioned that the predominate theme seem to be Red, Gold and Sparkly. From the looks created by the holiday collections, the Red, Gold and Sparkly theme seems to have translated into the traditional smokey eyes look…

2010 Fall: Lancome French Coquettes Collection Review
LANCOME’s 2010 fall look made my heart jump…which is quite rare lately with regards to makeup…I was deeply in love with the whole look, especially the eyes…I wanted expressive eyes such as those…naturally the signal that relayed to my brain was along the lines of “I need to look like that! That means I need every single item!! Buy! Buy!! Buy!!!” I stalked the Lancome counter asking when the collection would be in…each time leaving a little deflated cos I was told time and again the collection would be in ‘next month’… a few ‘next months’ later…I finally managed to view the collection!
Lancome Celebrating 75 Years of Beauty
LANCOME celebrates her 75th birthday this year. In her 75 years of beauty, Lancome has represented beauty that is found in women of talent and character, who feels lovely in her own skin and has “Je ne sais quoi”. The french essence that is – stylish, tasteful and feminine. This is evident in the spokespersons that Lancome has chosen for their brand – Anne Hathaway, Juliette Binoche, Isabella Rossellini and Julia Roberts to name a few.
Lancome Anniversary Specials
LANCOME is celebrating her 75th birthday this month. If you are in Singapore, Lancome has specials for specific items to celebrate their birthday. The offers should be available starting from April 1st 2010 at all Lancome counters while stocks last.
2010 Spring Collection – Motifs Galore!
A very quick summary of Spring 2010 from the various beauty brands – Motifs! There are loads of motifs this year for the Spring collections either on the packaging or the actual product itself. Have a look at my quick round up of the collections for Spring 2010…
PACKAGING
First on the list is Paul and Joe’s Spring 2010 Disney Collection! This collection is simply too cute and for once I can understand why bloggers would describe something as TDF! This collection is TDF…in a cutesy way. If you like cute and whimsical packaging, this collection is definitely for you!

The other collection with motifs on their packaging would be Shu Uemura’s Spring 2010 Collection. There are swirly lines over their eyeshadow tubes. Quite understated.

PRODUCTS
I guess the beauty brand that best fits the theme of this post would be Dior’s Spring 2010 – Lace Collection. It is ultra gorgeous with all the lace patterns on the product! A delicate pretty lace pattern decorates the eyeshadow palettes and highlighters.

Guerlain’s Spring 2010 – Cherry Blossom is another gorgeous collection that is heavily decorated. An absolute gorgeous collection and one of my favourites for this Spring! There are heavy swirls of contrasting shades on the eyeshadows and blushers which are meant to invoke the Cherry Blossom season. These motifs which are not only pleasing to the eye actually do give an added dimension to the actual product – the shades are actually deeper when mixed with the motifs.

I previously mention Paul and Joe’s Disney Collection but Paul and Joe always creates a collection of eyeshadows and lipsticks with their special seasonal prints. They are called Collection Sparkles and the prints are usually from that same season’s clothing collections. The collection this year is a little unique from previous years. Usually each collection would have the cardboard eyeshadow container imprinted with the seasonal motif and there will be matching lipsticks in their matching containers too. This year, instead of the matching lipsticks, there are matching lipglosses in little cute tubs. Very kawaii!!

Clarins too has one item which has motifs in it and might I say, sometimes one is enough. Have a look at the very delicate flowers in this product that seem to come alive in this compact… Absolutedly Gorgeous!

Lancome’s O My Rose Spring 2010 collection has a flower motif too. But unlike Clarins, their flower motif is quite small and very discreet. You probably cant see it in this lousy picture of mine but there’s a rose motif smack right about the lower left hand of the palette.

Finally, the other really really cute motif design for Spring 2010 is Chantecaille’s Les Dauphins Collection which features Dolphins as their motifs! Chantecaille releases palettes that highlight the plight of endangered species. This Spring 2010 collection highlights the plight of the dolphins.

Spring 2010 seems to be filled with motifs. Although there were lace patterns from Dior and Shu Uemura, and a really cute cartoon inspired collection by Paul and Joe, it was predominately flowers – Guerlain, Clarins , Paul and Joe – very fitting for Spring when flowers blossom isnt it?
I am super duper tempted to purchase Paul and Joe’s Disney collection, Chantecaille’s Les Dauphins palette and Guerlain’s Spring Collection. So which collection(s) have you set your eye on? Do you have any favourites or dislikes? Please do share!
Happy Drooling!

2009 Wrap Up – The Year of the Lipsticks!
Dear Readers,
How was everyone’s holidays?? I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!!
2009 is coming to an end soon…much too soon I think! But as the saying goes: “Time and tide waits for no man!” Read on for my thoughts on the Beauty for 2009.
2009 Letter to Santa
Dear Santa,
How are you? I hope all is well at the North Pole…
I am pretty sure you must be busy answering people’s letters…so I have made my letter a short one. Might I just say I have been a really really good gal this year too!! Things haven’t been going well in my life too, so a little pick me up would be really great!!
First on my list…
#1 Yukihana – Suqqu Holiday 2009

As much as I love Suqqu – please view my blog post on All Things Suqqu - and am a big fan of theirs, I wont be purchasing their Christmas set because the eyeshadow palette looks remarkable like eyeshadow quad #10 which I already have. Oh and while I would dearly love to have their limited edition mascara and eyeliner in their Christmas set but I already own their eyelash curler as well.
Since we are on the topic of giving gifts…I sure wouldn’t mine a couple of their brushes…the Face brush and Cheek Brush are what I am seriously lemming for but since I am such a nice gal… if I really have to choose one, the Face Brush is the one item that I really really really really want! ohhh…and if you could somehow conjure up their Spring edition 2009 limited edition Face Polish Omowa which was sold out before I could even play with the tester, I would be eternally grateful…
#2 Imperial Holiday – Guerlain Holiday 2009
Might I just say that their 2009 Imperial Holiday Collection is to die for this year. Lots of gorgeous gorgeous packaged items!!! Since I am being a really good gal, I wont ask for the entire collection, I will be purchasing the eyeshadow palette and the meteorites…so I would totally appreciate if you could send me the meteorites compact, the sparkling radiant powder and their limited edition mascara too.
#3 Stardrop Purification – Lunasol 2009
I would dearly love to have eyeshadow palettes in #02, #03, #05. As an example of what a nice gal i have been, I have so far managed not to start on a Lunasol addiction, so I do believe I really deserve to have some of their eyeshadows especially since they are super-duper gorgeous this year!! And being such a nice gal, I wont request for the entire Lunasol Stardrop Purification collection…just those 3 palettes which I deem to be must buys!
#4 Lancome Holiday 2009 L’Absolu Rouge Soiree

Since I was too slow at purchasing Suqqu’s 2009 Spring edition of Face Polish Powder, I would love to have Lancome’s highlighting powder called – Sparkling Cherub Sheer Warming Illuminating Powder. It has gorgeous subtle shimmery effect without any noticeable shimmer particles…its just perfect for me!
#5 Jo Malone The Kohdo Wood Collection
Another wish list is Jo Malone’s fragrances …I have heard good things about her fragrances and am dying to try out the Dark Amber fragrance from this collection since I love incense scents. But once again, I was a little too slow to venture into the departmental store to test drive this…apparently its once again sold out.
#6 Hermes Hermessence Range of Fragrances
Apparently very exclusive Hermes scents and so exclusive that I have not been able to find any to test drive…am not asking much Mr. Santa…it would be really great if I could somehow get sniffs of these…they don’t even have to be full bottles!!!
#7 Serge Lutens Non-Export Fragrances
Another range of exclusive fragrances that are only available in Paris…once again, a little sniff would be good…
#8 Shu Uemura Holiday 2009 – Tsumori chisato
This holiday collection is filled with whimsical accessories!! Very kawaii. I personally feel that their accessories are the hits in this collection…their lovely padded makeup case would help store my huge collection of makeup!! Am not that fond of their color palettes…well…okay…maybe except for their highlighter…
#9 Chanel Holiday 2009 – Cage Doree de Chanel
I would like to request for the Limited Edition Eyeliner in green!.
#10 Dior Holiday 2009 – Cristal Boreale
Dior’s holiday collection was gorgeous this year. I would like to wish for the gorgeous lipgloss in the to die for packaging and their nail polishes which once again am told are sold out!
Thanks Santa! Hope your holidays are great too!!

Guide to 2009 Spring Look by Lancome – Pink Irreverence Collection
Pretty in pink!

Lancome SPring 2009. Image from http://www.iswii.net
How to Get the Look:
FACE
• Begin by applying Maquicomplet Concealer under the eye, cutting a line at the bottom of the darkness and blending up to the lash line.
EYES

Pink Punk and Black Palette
• Sweep the medium pink shade of Limited-Edition Color Design Quad in Irreverent Madame over the entire lower lid and up into the crease. Apply the lightest shade under the brow and in the inner corner of the eye to highlight. Also try Madamoiselle Sass.
• Apply the hot pink shadow into the natural contour of the eye. Be sure to remove any excess product from the brush onto the back of your hand to prevent applying too much color. Remember, it’s always easier to build color than to blend away.

LAQUE LINER
• Trace the lash line with Laque Liner in Pure Black to create intensity in the lashes. Also try Pure Sparkle. Place Le Crayon Kohl Waterproof in Confidence Noir on the back of your hand and apply around the lash line to create a sultry effect. Layer the black shadow over the liner and blend into the outer crease. Also try Black Coffee or Black Lapis for drama.
• After applying Cils Booster XL to condition the lashes, apply several coats of Definicils in Deep Black to complete the look.
CHEEKS
• Apply Blush Subtil High Maintenance along the cheekbones to sculpt the face and create definition. Also try it in Bombay Glow or Cappucine for a warmer glow.
LIPS

LAQUE FEVER
• For strong lips apply NEW Laque Fever in Electric Pink. It provides bold color and shine all in one. Other options to get that dramatic pink pout are Digital Berry, Chromed Pink or Spot Pink. The soft-sculpt precision applicator gives one coat long lasting application.
• To add depth to the Laque Fever, apply a small amount of Black Piha Color Fever Gloss. Also try it in Combustible or Intense for a great finish.
