CHANEL ‘Ombres Matelassées’ Pearl River Eyeshadow Palette is described as ‘bright silvery white, white gold, vintage gold, peach, and brown. To create big, bright eyes, contrast the deep brown shade with the bright white color.’
The Hysan Place collection was created exclusively to celebrate the opening of Hysan Place in Hong Kong edition and the ‘Ombres Matelassées’ Pearl River Eyeshadow Palette is one of the three limited edition items in the collection.
CHANEL introduced a range of duo eyeshadows sometime in 2010 (I think) called the Ombre Contraste Duos. This foolproof pairing of complementary shades — in two unique textures — is housed in one convenient compact. The softly shimmering light shade is a creamy powder, which can be worn alone for a luminous effect, or as a base to extend the wear of the accompanying deep-toned shadow. The dark shade has intense micronized pigments for true colour application, and a matte finish to create depth and contour. Two applicators are included: a foam-tip to apply the shadows and a brush to blend. CHANEL is releasing a new mascara called Le Volume de Chanel on chanel.com in limited quantities from November 12 2012.

CHANEL Les Aquarelles de Chanel Collection introduces Ombre Essentielle in Gris Exquis. Chanel says “Part of LES AQUARELLES DE CHANEL Makeup Collection, this versatile powder eyeshadow debuts in the limited-edition shade, Gris Exquis. An elegant dove grey, ideal for achieving soft, romantic eye looks.”
If you are confused about this eyeshadow, so am I. The products used for the parade had shown the Ombre Duo Gris Stil (next to the lipstick)…

But Ombre Essentielle in Gris Exquis has been introduced as part of the Les Aquarelles de Chanel instead.
Why did I buy this? Because there were no testers available for this collection and I am a sucker when it comes to the words limited edition… However, you might want to read the rest of this post before you make your decision.
