Chanel Complete Correction Cream SPF30 PA+++ Review

Chanel describes the Complete Correction Cream aka (CC) cream as ‘a completely original creation. A fusion of skincare and makeup. The double know-how of CHANEL Research and the Makeup Studio. Backed by true expertise regarding the precise needs of Asian women in terms of flawless skin. With its CHANEL signature, CC Cream combines 5 actions in 1 single step:

  • SOOTHES. Cornflower water comforts sensitive skin.
  • MOISTURIZES. Hyaluronic acid helps maintain hydration level all day long by trapping and retaining moisture inside the skin.
  • PROTECTS. SPF 30 and PA+++ sun filters block aging-accelerating UVA-UVB rays. A mineral filter guarantees higher tolerance on the skin.
  • PREVENTS. An active ingredient of natural origin, Rejuvencia, provides the best shield against external aggressions.
  • EVENS OUT IMPERFECTIONS. Redness, dark spots and pores are visibly diminished.

Within moments, skin appears flawless and glows with a natural beauty. The complexion is visibly even-toned, fresh and radiant. CC Cream delivers complete correction and natural-looking, long-wear makeup. An ideal cream for day-long confidence with a lightweight, non-oily, comfortable texture.’

BB creams are all the rage in Asia, so I was puzzled that Chanel had not jumped onto the BB wagon. But I did some research and discovered that Chanel had indeed produced a CC cream last year. Unfortunately it was only available in China. Reviews were on the whole positive. Since January 2013, the CC cream should be available Asia-wide.

Skincare Review: La Mer The SPF 30 UV Protecting Fluid

For Product description, please see News: La Mer The SPF 30 UV Protecting FLuid

My Review:

My Skin: Extremely sensitive skin. My skin either turns all red is painful to touch and burns or stings, or breaks out in tiny white or huge red pimples all over the face if I use something unsuitable.  Combination skin – dry cheeks and oily t-zone.

Price:£47 – 50 (depending on where u purchase it) for 40ml

The Packaging: Plastic bottle

The Formula: A  really sheer and liquidity fluid. Very spreadable and easily massaged into skin. There’s something in the fluid that definitely helps brighten the skin. After application when i take a look at my fingers, there is a brightening effect compare to the other hand which is clean. I dont notice any shimmer or glitter but just a glowy effect on my fingers.

The Result

The fluid dries completely/ sinks straight into skin. Not necessarily to wait for it to dry. No feeling of stickiness or oiliness.  Does not hinder makeup application at all – tested with foundation (liquid/ powder/mineral), loose/pressed powder and a cheek stain (straight on the sunscreen) – there was no clumping/balling/peeling  when applying makeup nor was it difficult to to apply. The foundation/powder just went on smoothly over the la mer fluid and my brushes didnt stick to the skin.

Best of all, my skin has not broken out after 3 weeks of use ( I always break out with sunscreen!).  I also did not end up like a grease ball at mid-day….by late afternoon, I had slight oily t-zone (which I just blotted with tissue paper) and my cheeks stayed the same.

End result  -  radiant skin (when i just top it with loose powder).

Verdict

Very highly recommended!  This also doubles as a makeup primer (according to the sales assistant). In case anyone who has used the old (discontinued) version of Paul and Joe’s Dual UV Protecting Fluid (the one with the green cap) – this would be a great replacement – it giaves me the same glowy effect with no breakouts and works just as well as a primer (but the Paul and Joe was so much cheaper!).

Hope this helps!

News: La Mer – The SPF 30 UV Protecting Fluid

La Mer The SPF 30 UV Protecting Fluid.

La Mer The SPF 30 UV Protecting Fluid.

Description and Pictures from Neiman Marcus:

“Designed for daily use, this high-powered treatment utilizes a unique sunscreen blend to provide broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection while keeping skin soft, comfortable and hydrated.

An array of light-transformation benefits uniquely empowers the skin.

The appearance of discoloration is prevented.

Tourmaline and malachite gemstones absorb light energy, transforming it into beneficial green light to enhance anti-oxidant activity.

Exclusive photonic spheres capture light, for a healthy, luminous appearance, while diverting potentially damaging light from the skin.

The SPF 30 UV Protecting Fluid utilizes smart seaweeds to keep skin comfortable, hydrated and soothed. These natural humectants attract moisture to the skin and create a protective, emollient barrier, helping to prevent dehydration.

Luxurious and lightweight to the touch, this transparent fluid formula is an ideal makeup primer.

How to use: After moisturizing, shake bottle and apply a small amount onto fingertips and smooth all over face and neck. For the ultimate results, use in the daytime over Creme de la Mer to help makeup stay smooth and flawless.”

Nutty’s thoughts:

Costs: £47

Availability: USA – March. UK – At counters.

Texture: It was really sheer and liquidity – reminded me of Japanese sunscreen!!

I might pick this up to try but am hesitating because of the price -  £47 for quite a small bottle!! But I did like the texture. Apparently it does not contain titanium dioxide which is what causes breakouts…so this is recommended for people who break out when using other sunscreens… This would work as a primer as well…I like it because of the light sheer texture…do take a look at the counters!

Hope this help!
