Product Description from Sephora:

“A revolutionary new mascara designed to grip at lashes starting at the roots. Givenchy Phenomen’Eyes Mascara perfectly curls and separates lashes. It has a high-tech, patented round sphere at the tip of the precision wand that reaches every lash and adapts to all eye shapes. It’s a Sephora exclusive. The result is a beautifully fanned-out panoramic effect, holding the curve of your lashes perfectly in place.”

My Review:

Price: £19.50 (i think)

Packaging: Chunky short black tube.

Brush: ermmm…medieval torture spiky round top brush (see picture above). Word of warning: It truly does hurt if you poke your eye with this! Must admit that brush allows mascara to be deposited at the roots.

Shades Available: Black, Brown

Formulae: A really, really wet formulae that takes ages to dry. Is clumpy. Requires lash comb.

My lashes: Non-existent wimpy permanent pointed southwards stumpy short lashes that defy curls.

Effect: Produces thickening effects but because its so wet, it has a tendency to make my curled lashes produced from my eye lash curler droop. Does not curl lashes on its own. Takes ages to dry too because its so wet, so there’s the tendency to end up with black lines underneath the eye especially if your lashes are the kind that points southwards. Can get away with eyeliner because the brush deposits mascara at the roots.

Verdict

I would recommend this mascara if looking for a thickening/volumising mascara and you wouldn’t mind fiddling with the application. By rights, this mascara especially with the brush head should allow easier curling of lashes or at least enable lashes to be pushed up at the roots. But i suspect the formulae is too heavy for my lashes so my lashes end up drooping from the weight. If you are up to carefully applying this mascara, it might work wonders for your lashes.

Hope this helps!
