Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss

CHANEL has launched a new collection of lip products called Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss. I shall get to the important bit before I say anything else about the product…this collection might be limited edition... I am sincerely hoping its an error on the chanel website!

Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss is marketed as “The Pure Essence of Colour and Shine”. Unbelievably impressive tag-line…I just had to italicizes it…

The Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss comes in a similar packaging to the Rouge Allure Lacques (black glossy heavy glass material) but sizewise, its slightly taller…as in it has been ‘stretched lengthwise’.The Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss promises “bold colours and intense shine combined with the smoothest, silkiest gel texture for luxurious wear creates a dramatic effect. Lips feel comfortable – never sticky or tacky – and look luminous, full and sensuous for hours. The double-sided, flocked applicator delivers ultra-precise definition.”

Available in 9 shades; in the red family -Emo #58, Exces #60, Fatale #61; beige family – Insouciance #51 ,Genie #52; pink family – Confidence #55, Imaginaire #56, Insolence #57; and brown family – Impertinence #59; at a cost of USD$32.

Like I wrote, i think it is impossible for the entire collection to be limited edition. According to,#61 Fatal is limited edition while # 54 Freedom is limited to Asia but Asia doesnt have #59 Impertinence in the line up…

Apparently the Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss are inspired by the Rouge Allure lipstick, so colours are a touch more richer and bolder but the packaging takes after the Rouge Allure Lacques so perhaps Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss is a marriage between the Rouge Allure Lipstick and Rouge Allure Lacques with an affair with their Glossimer to get a ‘bold colour with intense shine’? The Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss are also more expansive than their new Rouge Coco lipstick by USD$2…perhaps its a marketing ploy to ‘convert’ more lipgloss users into using lipsticks…which was what Rouge Coco was marketed as when it was launched. Perhaps Chanel should have staggered their new product launches, giving us consumers some breathing space? Only in April of this year, Rouge Coco was marketed as trying to convert lipgloss users into lipstick users…and approximately five months later a new kind of gloss is being marketed…

If you are in Asia, chances are you probably will have access to this in September…when exactly? I have had the (i) blank stare as in ‘Chanel has something new?’ (ii) “Think it’s launching in September” (iii) “Launch early September” (iv) “Launch end of September” as answers from Chanel sales assistants…the only common point being ‘September’ aside from answer (i). Although I believe Hong Kong, Taiwan or Japan would most likely have an earlier launch date than the rest of Asia.

Until we poor mortals get our hands on Chanel’s latest lust-worthy object, you might want to check out Cafe Makeup’s fabulous post or Chanel’s very own ‘fancy flash‘ and perhaps starting your very own “Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss – Pure Essence of Colour & Shine” Trust Fund…

Happy Lemming!
