CHANEL is really killing me…and softly I might add! First there was the new collection of Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss accompanied with new shades of Rouge Allure lipsticks and matching shades of nail polishes, followed by the Chanel Les Khaki de Chanel Nailpolish Collection and the Chanel Soho Story Collection and now, news of a new foundation – Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua.
Introducing Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra Light Skin Perfecting Makeup …
Chanel’s Vitalumiere range is supposedly the best selling range of foundation. The latest edition is meant for all skintypes and all age groups. It promises a foundation that creates a ‘second skin’ effect – giving a long-lasting bare skin transparent look that eliminates fatigue and dull skin. The foundation boosts secret ingredients of Hyaluronic acid, Lotus water and a Brown seaweed derivative in a base that contains a high percentage of water and mineral powders. Has SPF 15 to protect skin from UV damage. Because of the unique texture , suggested use is to shake the bottle to mix the foundation and apply with your fingers.
Product should be available in October. Comes in 8 shades in 3 tones:
B10 Beige – Pastel
B20 Beige – Tendre
B30 Beige – Sable
B40 Beige – Desert
BR10 Beige Rose – Pastel
BR20 Beige Rose – Tendre
BR30 Beige Rose – Sable
BO20 Beige Ocre – Tendre (limited to the Asian region)
Thoughts: I am very curious about this foundation in particular the description of the texture. I have a feeling it might be similar to Chanel ‘s UV Essentiel Multi-Protection Daily UV Care SPF 50 where you have to shake the bottle before you can apply it to your skin because it contains powders as well. The colour range is quite limited especially for darker skin ladies. I am not too sure if this product will be available in the USA considering the Vitalumiere Eclat Radiance Comfort Compact Makeup isnt available there.
Hope this helps!
UPDATED (September 28 2010): October 1st 2010 is the launch date for the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation in conjunction with the Soho Story Collection in Asia. I believe this foundation might find itself to USA after all because the Chanel sales assistant said this foundation will replace Teint Innocence (liquid version). She was really excited when describing this foundation! According to the sales assistant, the new foundation is simply amazing, texture is even sheerer than Teint Innocence but still provides coverage – helps in minimizing spots and evening out the skin – creating a dewy/glowy finish.
UPDATED (December 28 2010): Check out my review of this product at Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Review.
