Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss Review

CHANEL reveals the next generation of lipgloss – with colour so rich and shine so intense, it could only be inspired by the iconic lipstick, ROUGE ALLURE. Bold colour combines with the smoothest, silkiest gel texture for luxurious wear and deeply dramatic effect. Lips feel comfortable – never sticky or tacky – and look luminous, full and sensuous for hours. The double-sided, flocked applicator is beveled to deliver ultra-precise definition.

Thoughts: The Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss comes in a similar packaging to the Rouge Allure Lacques (black glossy heavy glass material) but size wise, its slightly taller…as in it has been ‘stretched lengthwise’. The weight is quite substantial. I wouldn’t recommend dropping this, you might get bits chipped off or heaven forbid, the entire tube breaks… The double-sided, flocked & beveled applicator does indeed give a more precise application but its very flimsy…wouldn’t suggest man-handling this applicator, you might wake up one day and find that the applicator has broken off and is swimming among the gloss…not that you can actually see it among the gloss because of the opaque tube which means I wouldn’t realise that i am running out of gloss…but the black tube sure is classy!

The gloss itself has a waxy taste and is scented…for some reason, I keep thinking it smells like chocolate?? Texture-wise, its definitely sticky (unlike the product description – from above) but comfortable. I give this gloss  full scores for its pigmentation. If you use a thin coat, you get a sheered out effect with the smallest amount of shine – you can pass this off as a stain/lipstick look. A second coat gets a more pigmented, glossy look… you get a shade deeper than the first application with a typical lip gloss -glossy look.  The gloss is non drying on lips and it sure is a long lasting lipgloss! 3 drinks later, without touch-ups, I still stained my 4th glass of drink! The gloss  wears down beautifully to a stain. This gloss has seduced me back into the world of lipglosses…

Verdict: Highly recommended! Perfect if you are looking for a lipgloss that is non-drying,  long lasting and performs double -duty as a gloss & stain!

Hope this helps!
