CHANEL launched its new whitening beauty line including skincare and makeup called Le Blanc sometime in March of 2011. The makeup collection called Chanel Tourbillions D’Eclat De Chanel was created by Peter Philips specifically for Asia.
Chanel describes the collection as: “A breeze of freshness, a twist of radiance, a hint of pink to illuminate your pearl-perfect complexion and create a makeup that beams with a healthy glow. In a swirl, the tender and delicate shades of pink, brown and beige will lighten up your complexion like the glow from a fresh morning breeze. to perfect the whitening beauty.”
This range includes a blush, an eyeshadow quad, 2 lipglosses, 2 lipsticks. and a highlighting powder. I am told that this collection is not limited edition and will form part of the permanent collection.
Blush: Jouse Contrase Rose Tourbillion #67 is a beautiful shimmery rose pink blush.
Eyeshadow: Les 4 Ombres Rose Envolee #31 contains a shimmery white, a shimmery whitish pink, a shimmery pink, a plummy-brown. What’s interesting for these shades is that the shimmer for the whitish pink and pink shades, the shimmer flashes pink!! The eyeshadow texture is not dry or crumbly. The shimmer is fine and not chunky. This is perfect for a creating a sweet look… think those popular Japanese/ Taiwanese “First Date” Look; “Romance/Valentine’s Day” Look.
Lipgloss: 2 very shimmery lipglosses that appear to have multi-coloured shimmer and visible glitter. The only difference between the two lipglosses is one has a white base (#154 Liaison) and the other has a pink base (#152 Blossom). Both apply very sheerly on the lips.
Lipstick: Both are from the Rouge Allure range. One is a gorgeous pinkish creme (#87 Joyeuse) while the other appears to be an peachy creme (#86 Desinvolte).
Powder: Pearl Glow Powder (Poudre Lumiere Perlee) This is a gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous shimmery ivory powder meant for highlighting. The powder is soft and almost creamy. The compact is accompanied with a sponge tip applicator.
Verdict: A gorgeous collection that has colours suitable for the Asian skin. The eyeshadow quad would be perfect for creating that sweet pinkish look that Asians tend to favour. I notice that the items in this collection tend to be a tad more shimmery, perhaps to give a more luminous effect. The one item that stood out for me is the Pearl Glow Powder which I highly recommend.
Hope this helps!
