Chanel Byzance de Chanel Review – Rouge Allure in Rouge Byzantin

CHANEL says: “The lipstick icon – renowned for its lustrous colour, sensational comfort and fabulous wear – debuts Rouge Byzantin, an iridescent ruby red with a hint of sapphire, for a rich, jewel-toned lip look.”

Read on for my thoughts on the last item of the Byzance collection…Rouge Allure Lipstick in Rouge Byzantin.

Rouge Allure in Rouge Byzantin: The Rouge Allures are packaged in a black plastic case with a gold tube that encloses the lipstick. You need to press the bottom of the gold tube (which has the double ‘C’s) to release the lipstick from the black plastic tube. The lipstick is accompanied with a tiny pamphlet with instructions on how to use the lipstick. Wish it comes packaged with a black velvet pouch too.

This remains at the regular price of SGD 44 (approximately USD 36 / GBP 22).

Rouge Byzantin is a gorgeous cool toned red lipstick with lovely shimmer (red & gold). Some red lipsticks tend to be too intense for day even if it’s a deeper red or make my lips look like I suffered an allergy reaction (i.e swollen lips) but not this shade. This shade is perfect because it is not a loud red so I can use it from morning to night. I believe this shade is suitable for all occasions too.

Unfortunately, the formulae for the Rouge Allures always leave me with peeling cracked lips…even with lip balm under it…or I would have ordered another as back up.

Verdict: Rouge Allure in Rouge Byzantin is recommended if looking for a cool toned cherry red lipstick. Looks great on my fair skin.

Hope this helps!
