The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s official tour of Canada in 2011 begin on June 30 2011. Check out the Duchess’s fashion style for the Canada trip.
JUNE 30, 2011
HEATHROW AIRPORT, LONDON
For the Duchess’s flight out of London, she wore a navy Roland Mouret silk and cotton-blend dress (£672 at Net-A-Porter.com) matched with a navy Smythe les Vestes blazer with gold buttons (£579) and accessorized with a Mulberry Polly push-lock shoulder bag (£850 at Selfridges.com) and Calogera stilettos by Manolo Bhlanik.
OTTAWA, CANADA
On arrival at Ottawa, Canada, the Duchess disembarked the plane in a dress by Erdem Moralioglu. The dress was a navy, lace Cecile shift scoop-backed dress of contrast stone crepe with a navy lace overlay. The dress also had a sheer lace sleeve with a scallop detail.
She accessorized her dress with cream LK Bennett pumps (£175) and a matching rectangular nude snakeprint clutch. She’s wearing Tiffany Diamond by the Yard bracelet and a diamond and lapis drop earrings.
Her third outfit of the day at an informal barbecue – a black and white ‘bird’ dress by Issa, one of her favourite designers. She accessorized with Vinnie Day earrings, a circular disc gold necklace and Pied a Terre wedges.
Thoughts: While I understand the diplomatic significance of wearing the Erdem dress on her arrival in Canada I personally felt its a little too formal/fancy for day wear. While critics did not like her navy Roland Mouret outfit or her Issa dress, in my opinion the Issa dress was perfect for a barbecue which is a casual event! Her inflight outfit is genius for travelling – no one’s going to be able to see the creases and its a smart look.
