If you love Chanel, you really need to get your ass down to Harrods in London…
For the next three weeks in September 2011, Chanel unveils an exclusive world in Harrods…
The Brompton road store façade will feature Chanel themed windows, inspired by Karl Lagerfeld’s most recent Ready-to-Wear collection. Wolves, unicorns, deer and owls inhabit the “Enchanted Forest” of Lagerfeld’s expansive fairytale conception.
The one-off Chanel fashion boutique is located on the ground floor and is accessible from Brompton and Hans Road. Exterior walls are back and white, embossed with lions heads. Inside, the boutique splits into three rooms, one red, one green and one blue, displaying accessories, bags, shoes, and fine jewellery against a backdrop of a sumptuous, magical forest.
To commemorate the event, there’s the limited edition Harrods Chanel bag…
The beauty boutique is also located on the ground floor and showcases the “Knightsbridge Collection”, created by Peter Philips, Creative Director of Chanel make-up. Each product is named after famous areas of London; Belgravia, Kensington and Chelsea. The exclusive make up collection for Harrods features flirty glosses and sophisticated lip colours in feminine hues of coral, fuchsia and gilded rose and a seductive amalgam of translucent powders…
The Exclusive Creation POUDRE TISSÉE in Brompton Road, opens up to reveal a fabric-like effect, evocative of a fine, light and refined knit. The sheer, satiny powder enhances the radiance of the complexion while giving it a beautiful translucency. Brompton Road, a tender pink with golden shimmers, can be dabbed onto cheekbones to subtly brighten and freshen the face.
The installation on the Third Floor titled “Une Promenade”, open to the public on Tuesday 6th September, completes the Chanel experience at Harrods. With a theme of “Coco in Wonderland” the entrance is marked by a curtain of pearl-like beads. Behind a curtain of pearl beads, they will find an enchanted garden (last seen at the Chanel spring/summer fashion show), a 2.55 exhibition showcasing the work that goes into making one of the legendary quilted handbags, a display of haute couture gowns in a replica of Coco’s apartment and an ode to the iconic Chanel No 5 perfume bottle.
