The Duchess wore Jaeger’s pleated shirt dress in yellow during her Asia Pacific tour held in 2012.
JAEGER describes the Pleated Shirt Dress as ‘Fuss-free summer dressing comes in the shape of this ladylike shirt dress. Cinched at the waist with either the attached bow or a leather belt, the pleated skirt style is a flattering choice. Made from the finest cotton, it’s both luxe and lightweight.’
Thoughts: I thought really hard before ordering this dress because as a full figured gal, I worried about how the pleated skirt would look on my ample buttocks and hips…Surprisingly, the pleats flattered my bottom half. It seem to give a slimming effect for my bottoms.
I was very happy with the cap sleeves that weren’t tight on my arms. There was ample space across the chest area (yes! no more straining buttons!). Beware that the waist is tapered in slightly. The clothe belt can be easily removed but because the belt tags are sewn in, you will have to find the right width belt to replace the clothe belt. The length of the dress is 101cm which lands just nicely at the knees..so happy that it’s not short which makes it end at my widest point – ie my thighs!
The cotton fabric is gorgeous for a hot summer day! Keep in mind that there is no stretch to the fabric as it is 100% cotton.
Verdict: I adore this dress and am very tempted to get the pink too!
