Miss Philippa Middleton’s dress was also designed and created by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen. It is of a heavy, ivory satin-based crepe with a cowl front. Her dress has lace edging to her capped sleeves and decolletage. The lace is the same lace trims as the Bride’s dress. She wore white Jimmy Choos.

The back of her dress has a line of silk-covered buttons that went right down her spine, mirroring the same button details as the Bride’s dress.

Philippa wore a green silk dress by Alice Temperley for the evening reception. According to an Interview with Temperly, Philippa choose the Long Arabia dress but chose a new colour and reworked it with the lovely new back – incorporating new artwork panels with crystals, gold and silver details.

She matched her dress with Aruna Seth’s silver peep-toes and a silver clutch.

Thoughts: When I first saw Miss Philippa Middleton’s white cowl-neck dress, I sat up straight on my seat, thinking perhaps, just perhaps, the Duchess of Cambridge would stay true to herself and go with a sexy column dress which she particularly likes to wear for evening functions (see Kate’s Iconic Fashion Moments) …

The dress that Ms Philippa Middleton wore would be great for brides looking for a sexy look or an beach wedding. The only draw back to this is the cowl neck is a little low…am pretty sure some photographers managed to catch a lovely view whenever she bent down to help her sister with her train…I love how she wore her hair and am pretty sure this was how Kate Duchess of Cambridge wore hers.
